REMINDER: You have less than 48 hours to pick up your PVC

Have you collected your permanent voter card (PVC)? If not, what are you waiting for?

In less than 48 hours time, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would stop issuing PVCs to voters, and this would mean inability to vote during the elections.

INEC had announced February 8 as last day for collection of PVCs to give room for preparations for the elections.

The presidential and national assembly elections will hold on February 16 while governorship and state houses of assembly polls will take place March 2.

“Registered voters must endeavour to collect their cards personally. We are working hard to ensure that no PVC goes into the wrong hands,” Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, had said last year.

The commission had said the total number of registered voters in the country is at least 84 million, but there are still millions of uncollected PVCs across the country.

Where to collect your PVC

There are two ways to locate your PVC, as shown on INEC website: first, using your polling unit (PU) number as provided on temporary voters card; enter the number in the “PU Number Search Form” to view where to go and pick up your PVC. But in the instance you don’t have your temporary card, you would have to use your ward and polling unit description also on the website to view your PVC location.

So, what are you waiting for? Hurry now!
