Reno Omokri, a former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, says a supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari recently threatened him to take it easy on the president if he does not want to be exposed.

Omokri identified the person who issued the alleged threat as one Baba Adam, who is a resident of Borno.

According to him, Adam said he would expose how he got a contract to produce national identity card during Jonathan’s administration but did not execute it.

TheCable saw Adam’s email which was addressed to Jonathan but copied to hundreds of other prominent Nigerians.

In a letter to Adam on Monday, Omokri dared him to carry out his threat, vowing not to back down on his criticism of Buhari.

Dear Dr. Baba Adam,

Today, I got your email threatening me to leave General Buhari and Pastor Osinbajo, or I will be exposed. As you are a known close associate of the immediate past Governor of Borno state, now Senator, Kashim Shettima, and a known surrogate of the Buhari administration, I must take your threats very seriously.

The only time I ever exchanged emails with you was on June 16, 2019, when I sent you a private condolence on the death of your late mother, Hajia Yagana Ajiram (may her soul rest in peace, and may she gain al jannah firdaus). So, I am shocked at your email.

First and foremost, I would like to urge you to go ahead. Expose me! Your threat has only inspired me to be more of a #BuhariTormentor. You do not scare me. 1 million of your likes cannot intimidate me.

By the way, may I please ask what you have done for your beloved Borno people other than send out sycophantic and laughable emails praising General Buhari? To God be the glory, I built an orphanage for IDP orphans from Borno. I do not boast about it. I did not steal. I built it with my hard earned money. I did it because of my love for your people.

You claim that the people of Borno are happy with the Buhari administration. Your claim is wonderful. as it comes 24 hours after the Shehu of Borno said (and I quote), “nobody is safe” in Borno. Your assertion also came 72 hours after the Governor of Borno, Prof Babagana Zulum, was attacked and escaped death in Baga, by a whisker.

The Governor of Borno, and the Shehu of Borno, are the two most guarded individuals in Borno. If both of them are not safe, what does that say about your claims? If this is your idea of happiness, it says a lot about your state of mind.

I have never been offered or received any contract by the Nigerian government under former President Jonathan or under any past or present administration in Nigeria, at local government, state, or federal level, as you alleged. Please go ahead and publish the details of whatever contract you alleged I received. My office is able to provide you a contact list of reputable media houses in Nigeria and abroad. However, be ready to face a law suit for libel and slander, both in Nigeria and in the United States.

I have never been charged for fraud or any form of dishonesty, yet, you called me a fraudster. I am in possession of a criminal clearance certificate from the Nigerian police dated 2020, which I am willing and able to scan and send to you. I am also in possession of similar documents from the United States and the United Kingdom. Also, I am in possession of a letter of commendation by former President Goodluck Jonathan stating that I served Nigeria “meritoriously” as one of his spokesmen from August 2011 to May 2015 So, I am very puzzled at your description of my person. In any case, I look forward to your exposé.
