Apple will halt its advertising on X, formerly Twitter, after the owner, Elon Musk, supported a post on the social media platform tackling the Jewish community.

On Wednesday, X user, @breakingbaht, also known as ‘The Artist Formerly Known as Eric’, posted that the “Jewish communities have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them”.

“I’m deeply disinterested in giving the tiniest shit now about western Jewish populations coming to the disturbing realization that those hordes of minorities that support flooding their country don’t exactly like them too much,” Breakingbaht said.

“You want truth said to your face, there it is.”

Musk responded with “You have said the actual truth”.

The statement has drawn criticism, with Axios reporting on Friday that Apple is pausing all advertising on X.

In the report, the publication said Apple, Google, Amazon and Disney have been told by 164 Jewish rabbis and activists to discontinue advertising on X.

They also requested that Apple and Google remove X from their platforms.

White House spokesperson, Andrew Bates, condemned the post, saying it “is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of Antisemitism in American history at any time, let alone one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust”.

In a post on Thursday, Linda Yaccarino, X’s chief executive officer, said that the social media company has been “extremely clear about our efforts to combat antisemitism and discrimination”.

Yaccarino said there is no place for it anywhere in the world, as it is ugly and wrong.
