Meta Platforms Inc. is planning to fully automate its advertising process using artificial intelligence (AI) by the end of 2026.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, businesses will be able to upload a product image and budget, while Meta’s AI system will generate the full advertisement, including visuals, video, and copy, and decide where and how to target users on its platforms.
The company is also working on tools that will allow real-time personalisation of ads based on factors such as geolocation, the report said.
Meta’s move comes as tech and social media companies ramp up AI investment to attract advertisers in a competitive digital ad market.

In recent months, platforms like Snap, Pinterest, and Reddit have introduced AI and machine learning solutions in a bid to increase ad efficiency.
Google and OpenAI have also launched AI tools for generating video and image content, but adoption in the advertising space is said to slow due to concerns over brand safety, quality, and creative control.
Mark Zuckerberg, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Meta, had earlier said businesses needed AI solutions that deliver “measurable results at scale”.

He added that the company is building an AI one-stop shop where advertisers can set goals, input budgets and allow the platform to handle delivery logistics.
