Residents flee as Boko Haram raid another community in Borno

Boko Haram insurgents are currently engaging security operatives in a gun battle Kareto, a community in the northern part of Borno state.

A source told TheCable that the insurgent invaded the community around 6pm.

Suleiman Babagana, a resident, said the insurgents numbering over 100 came on motrocycles and gun trucks.

He said they attacked the village and burnt many houses while many residents fled.

A security operative told TheCable that more troops are being deployed in the community to repel the attack.

“We heard about the attack and we are making effort to mobilise more men to Kareto to complement our troops,” he said.
