Ribadu stands in for Buhari at tribunal
Nuhu Ribadu, pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential election petition tribunal in Abuja on Tuesday.
Ribadu is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The tribunal considered a petition filed by Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and Ambrose Awuru, its presidential candidate.
The petition is one of the four challenging Buhari’s victory in the February 23 presidential election.
APC was represented by Dare Oketade, who identified himself as the party’s head of legal services, while Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was represented by Oluwatoyin Babalola, its director, legal services.
Wole Olanipekun, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), led Buhari’s legal team, and Lateef Fagbemi led APC’s team of lawyers.
Zainab Bulkachuwa, president of the court of appeal, led the five-man bench of the tribunal.
