Rivers United failed to replicate their CAF Champions League form in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League match played on Wednesday.

The Port Harcourt-based side had defeated Real Bamako of Mali 4-0 at the weekend but played out a 1-1 draw with visiting Kano Pillars.

With the first half almost ending goalless, Godbless Asamoah handed the home team the lead in the additional time of the first 45 minutes.

Amos Gyang put Pillars back on level terms with the club’s first away goal of the season in the 58th minute.

In Bauchi, Wikki Tourists recorded a 1-0 victory against Shooting Stars of Ibadan. Nnaemeka Anyanwu’s screamer in the 70th minute made the difference.

Katsina United returned to winning ways in a 1-0 defeat of FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
