Rohr calls up Akpeyi to replace Ikeme

Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles’ technical adviser, has invited Daniel Akpeyi, South Africa-based goalkeeper to replace Carl Ikeme, who has been ruled out of the Algeria encounter as a result of injury.

Ikeme sustained injuries while featuring for  his Wolverhampton Wanderers club on Saturday.

Akpey stars for Chippa United in South Africa. He was in the Nigerian U-20 squad that finished as runners-up at the 2005 FIFA World Cup in The Netherlands.

He was also in the bronze-winning team at the recent edition of the Olympics football tournament in Brazil.

The Super Eagles will take on the Fennecs of Algeria in Uyo on Saturday, November 12.
