UniAbuja's newly appointed registrar Roseline Adakayi
The University of Abuja has appointed Roseline Adakayi as the new acting registrar of the institution.
A letter signed by Patricia Manko Lar, acting vice-chancellor of the institution, confirmed that Adakayi’s appointment takes effect from May 12, 2025.
The appointment, the VC said, will run for an initial period of six months.
Olanrewaju Tejuoso, the pro-chancellor and chairman of the university’s governing council, approved Adakayi’s appointment.

Adakayi succeeds Islamiya Foyeke Abdulraheem, whose six-month tenure as acting registrar expired on May 12.
A seasoned administrator, Adakayi joined the university in 1999 as an administrative officer in the registry and rose to deputy registrar in 2013.
She has served in various capacities across key departments, including student affairs, establishments, the council division, and the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education.

She holds a BSc in Geography from the University of Jos, a Professional Diploma in Land Surveying from the Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Photogrammetry from RECTAS, Ile-Ife.
In her congratulatory message, Lar expressed confidence in Adakayi’s ability to use experience in the new role.
“She will be responsible to the vice-chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the university,” Lar said.
“I am hopeful that with her wealth of experience as an administrator, she will serve the university well.
