Sam Momah, a former minister of science and technology, is dead.
Aged 77, Momah was said to have died on Wednesday following complications from diabetes.
The news of his death was confirmed in a tweet by Lifeline Care Assocaition, a not-for-profit organisation that offers free first aid care to victims of road traffic accidents (RTAs) and other disasters.
Momah served as a grand patron of the organisation.
“We regret to announce the passing of our Grand Patron, Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Sam Momah (rtd.) – the father to our Founder, Dr. Nkem Momah. His passing occurred yesterday,” the tweet read.
“His many contributions and unflinching commitment to the growth of our Charity and service to the nation at large will forever be cherished.
“We kindly request your prayers for his peaceful repose and consolation to the family at this time. May God grant his gentle soul eternal rest by His side. Amen!”
A proponent of restructuring, the deceased launched a book entitled “Restructuring to save Nigeria from Post-Oil Disintegration” during his birthday celebration on July 6.
Momah was also a former chief administrator and adjutant general of the Nigerian army. He served as director of National War College and was a member of the governing council of the University of Jos, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
