Sam Omatseye to release book on how Tinubu became president

Sam Omatseye, chairperson of the editorial board of The Nation Newspaper, is set to release a book on how President Bola Tinubu became the nation’s number one citizen.

The book, “Beating All Odds: Diaries and Essays on How Bola Tinubu Became President”, will be unveiled on Tuesday in Abuja, the country’s capital.

The unveiling ceremony will take place at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre.

In a statement on Saturday, Omatseye said the book will give account and context to “one of Nigeria’s most tempestuous election seasons”.

The essayist said the book will be reviewed by Louis Odion, former senior technical adviser to former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The occasion, which is expected to attract high-profile political actors, media personalities and members of the civil societies, will be chaired by Chief Olusegun Osoba, CON, CFR, former governor of Ogun state,” the statement reads.

“The president and commander-in-chief, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who is the subject of the book, is expected to attend as well as the vice president, Kashim Shettima.

“The chief host is Nyesom Wike, CON, minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former governor of Rivers State.

“The compere will be Eric Osagie, publisher of ThisNigeria and former editor-in-chief of the Sun Newspapers.”

Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the 2023 election after he scored 8,794,726 votes.
