Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, will speak to residents of the state over the prevailing economic hardship in the country.

Food prices have soared and inflation has spiralled out of control in Nigeria since President Bola Tinubu ended the petrol subsidy regime and unified the exchange rate in 2023.

Residents of some states have since taken to the streets in protest, as the naira continues to depreciate against international currencies in the forex market.

“Dear Lagosians, as we navigate the unique economic realities in the country, it is important as the chief economic and security officer of our state to share some key policy changes for the welfare of all Lagosians,” Sanwo-Olu wrote on X.

“From enhancing food security to bolstering health and infrastructure, these steps reflect our commitment to your welfare.

“Tomorrow at 11:15 a.m., I will be having a Media Chat with Journalists from Channels TV, Arise, TVC, and LTV. It will also be live on Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1 FM and Eko FM 89.7.

“In navigating these times, resilience, creative thinking, and safety are paramount. Your steadfastness is appreciated as we work together for a stronger Lagos and Nigeria.”
