Bukola Saraki, former senate president, says the peaceful ward congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara is proof that the party is ready to return to power.
In a statement signed by Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, his press officer on local matters, Saraki said the congresses across the state’s 193 wards reflected unity and internal democracy.
“The congresses once again demonstrated the growing strength of our party in Kwara,” he said.
The former Kwara governor added that the “consensus-driven process underscored the readiness of the PDP to reclaim leadership at all levels in the state”.

Saraki also commended members for conducting themselves in an exemplary manner, noting that the outcome demonstrated the collective resolve of the PDP family to working together in harmony.
The former senate president also congratulated the newly elected ward executives and urged them to see their positions as a call to service.
Saraki said the new ward leaders have a significant responsibility to act as unifiers, mobilisers, and genuine voices for the aspirations of the people.

“The task before the new ward leadership is enormous. They must serve as unifying pillars, mobilisers, and true representatives of the aspirations of our people,” he said.
He added that their commitment at the grassroots level would shape the strength and progress of the party.
Saraki also assured members of his continued support and called on stakeholders to remain united as the PDP prepares for future elections.
