The forgery case against Senate President Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president, could not be heard on Monday as the presiding judge was said to have gone on vacation.

The duo were to appear before Yusuf Hallilu, judge of a federal capital territory high court in Abuja on Monday.

On getting to the court, Saraki and Ekweremadu were informed that the judge had already proceeded on vacation and the trial will begin on September 28.

Saraki and his deputy were accused to have masterminded the usage of a forged senate standing rules for their election, which led to their emergence as leaders of the senate.
