YOUR SAY: Should Buhari probe only Jonathan?
Presidency officials have been quoted as saying only the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan will be probed by President Muhammadu Buhari. That means 2010 to 2015.
Effectively, the Halliburton and Siemens scandals, for which the US and German governments have punished their indicted citizens, will not be revisited by Buhari. Allegations that $16 billion was spent on power between 1999 and 2007 “with nothing to show” (in the words of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua) would also not be looked into.
Supporters of Jonathan are already crying foul, suggesting that the probe is targeted at the former president who himself said in his last days in office that if only his government was probed, it would appear selective.

PMB took over from Jonathan.It is Jonathan that should have probed that administration before his,that is that of Obasanjo.
Buhari cannot probe all previous administrations,that should not be his focus.
Well thought man, Jona should have probed his predecessors before commencing his government. Why building on what he knew were corruptions.
I can predict that PMB and APC will be setting their probe up for failure if they probe only GEJ’s government. It might be seen as a witch-hunt.
President Buhari is not responsible to probe past Presidents exempt who handed over to him. Jonathan should have probe Obasanjo but he cannot because Obasanjo put him there not on Nigerian mandate. Nigeria needs to start somewhere to stop corruption and with President wish to start, please Nigerian give him support. Revolution in America starts one day by one man.
A selective probes of Jonathan’s era will be Buhari’s worst political mistake. It will mark the beginning of the end of his claims to integrity and probity. There shall never be peace in the nation with the charades.
In my opinion,PMB should not be doing Jonathan’s job. It’s the responsibility of every government to probe any corruption while assuming office,but Jonathan decided to cover his predecessors at the expense of the masses. Even Obasanjo probed PTF under Buhari. So why should Buhari be labelled l,he can only work on what is handed over to him
Its only sixth sense that he probes GEJ, that’s the flow process and his only concern . Auditing is a way of life and should be a culture to creating a good economy atmosphere. The current situation of Greece is inherent if GEJ has won election. Thank God for Buhari.
Frankly speaking , only foolish people would fault that, u can only probe ur Predecessor , its common sense init ? During his probe, should evidence requires other past administration then he sways into them, you don’t put the cart b4 the Horse.
I think pmb is wrong for not probing earlier governments including himself. I am not a politician but I think he should everybody if we must in all honesty fight corruption and impunity. Can we in all honesty say that we don’t know that prior governments stolemoney. However he should recover stolen money from his government, IBB, Abubakar, Obasanjo, yaradua and then gej. In that way he will not be guilty of Witchhunt.
Your comment.. Buhari shld start frm his govt, Ibb, obj/atiku, yar/jona and all the past ministers, directors, senators, HOR members alive frm 1999-2015, otherwise its a waste of time, he shld focus on economy reforms and insecurity first bcos 4yrs is just 4days.

Even if he probes other administrations. He will only find GEJ alone guilty! I don’t think he has the nerves to probe OBJ. his intention is witch-hunting. But then, come to think of it, His responsibility? how does probing appear in our constitution as any president’s responsibility? its the work of anti-graft agencies. if he will direct them to probe one administration, why not probe them all?
Without sentiments, I think the present administration only has the right to probe its immediate predecessor. It doesn’t just sound right to probe earlier administrations. But the perception would be witch hunting definitely. But it doesn’t really matter, in so far the right thing is done.
