Troops of operation Hadin Kai have reportedly killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists during a raid on five of the terrorists’ hideouts.

According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the operation was conducted in conjunction with some Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) operatives on Saturday.

The publication said the troops, led by a lieutenant colonel, made contact with the terrorists during a counter-offensive patrol in Boko Haram hideouts in Bulakulari, Gwari gwazo, Loskori, Limanti and Gaza villages.

“It was gathered that the troops of 112 Battalion, under 24 Task Force Brigade, Operation Hadin Kai, along with some Civilian Joint Task Force embarked on a fighting patrol to suspected Boko Haram hideouts in Bulakulari, Gwari gwazo, Loskori, Limanti and Gaza villages on Dec. 3, 2022,” the publication reported.

“The sources said that the troops, led by one Lt. Col. Obiyanyo, decisively neutralised members of the terrorist group supposedly using those areas to attack their own troops and other law-abiding citizens along Ngwom – Mafa – Maiduguri road.

“Meanwhile, troops made sure that the entire area was cleared of all suspected terrorist elements.

“However, a total of 40 bicycles alongside several other items including weapons were retrieved from the eliminated terrorists.”

TheCable had reported how scores of fighters of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) were killed following a gunfight with troops of the Nigerian Army in Damboa, Borno.

The attack was said to have occurred hours after the insurgents pledged allegiance to Abu al-Hussein al-Qurashi, identified as the new leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
