In a statement on Tuesday, Janet Afolabi, publisher of Scroll Report, said the conference is meant “to assess the fight against corruption and the prevailing security situation in the country. ”

Afolabi, who is a CNN award-winning journalist, said many persons have been displaced due to the problem of insecurity in the country.

The award-winning journalist said the media has a role to play in sustaining democracy in Nigeria.

She said the role can be played “by seeking solutions through conferences, workshops and seminars.”
