Security operatives rescue three kidnap victims in Kaduna

The Kaduna state police command says security operatives have rescued three labourers kidnapped by suspected gunmen in Kaduna.

Mansir Hassan, spokesperson of the command, announced the development on Friday while addressing reporters.

The spokesperson said the victims were rescued on Thursday after a complainant reported to the police that some labourers were abducted by the armed men while working at Nura Suraj Phase 2 Estate, near millennium city.

He said on receiving the report, the police and military personnel rushed to the scene and pursued the criminals.

“As a result, the three kidnap victims were rescued,” NAN quoted Hassan as saying.

“Investigation has commenced, confidence-building patrols and surveillance have also been intensified in the area to ensure the arrest of the suspects.”

Hassan further said operatives of the command arrested three suspected phone snatchers during a patrol around 10pm on Thursday.

He said suspects were arrested near Danbushiya bridge in millennium city, adding that the suspects conspired and snatched an Infinix Smart 6 mobile phone from a passerby.

“The suspects are in custody and assisting with investigation. They will be charged to court on completion of investigation,” Hassan said.
