The senate on Tuesday adjourned its plenary over the ongoing national executive council (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The upper legislative chamber adjourned the session to allow the APC caucus to attend the meeting, holding in Abuja.

Ahmad Lawan, senate majority leader, moved for the adjournment of the plenary, after which the lawmakers unanimously granted the motion.

However, the house of representatives is continuing with Tuesday’s plenary.

Although a good number of the lawmakers are absent, the session, presided over by Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house, is ongoing.

Earlier, Dogara read the letter of President Muhammadu Buhari, stating his decision to withhold assent to Peace Corps bill.
