The senate committee on army has commended troops of Operation Hadin Kai for killing Amir Abu Fatima, a Boko Haram/ISWAP commander with a N100 million bounty placed on him.
Abdulaziz Yar’adua, chairman of the committee, said the operation in Kukawa, Borno state, marks a “significant milestone” in the fight against insurgency.
Yar’adua said the precision strike that led to Abu Fatima’s death also took out his lieutenants, without any casualties on the side of the Nigerian military.
“This victory is a testament to the bravery and dedication of our troops who have steadfastly remained in the forefront,” he said.
