Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured the people of Plateau that the upper legislative chamber will work with relevant security and government agencies to end the spate of killings in the state.
Akpabio gave the assurance on Friday during the funeral service of Janet Plang, wife of Diket Plang, chairman of the senate committee on labour and productivity.
The service was held at the headquarters of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Jos, Plateau state.
Caleb Mutfwang, governor of the state, had used the occasion to appeal for urgent intervention by the federal government to stop what he described as the needless murder of innocent citizens.

She said Mrs Plang, who chaired SEWAN’s committee on education, was committed and dedicated member whose efforts made it possible for the association to support the education of 15 indigent students at the University of Abuja.

“We pray for the family and loved ones left behind, and may her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
