Senator advises monarch to ‘rule with fear of God’

Isiaka Adeleke, senator representing Osun west constituency, has congratulated Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi for emerging as the new ‘Oluwo Of Iwoland’.

Recalling that he installed Akanbi’s predecessor in 1992 when he was in charge of the state, Adeleke who goes into history as Osun first elected governor of Osun, advised the new king not to discriminate against those who contested the stool with him.

He wished the king a peaceful reign.

“Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi’s reign will witness accelerated development for Iwoland in all ramifications as a traditional ruler, who has traversed the globe far and wide, urging him to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the throne,” Adaeleke said in a statement issued on his behalf by Olumide Lawal, his media aide.

“The Chancellor of Adeleke University and the Asiwaju of Edeland, reiterated, that Iwoland should continue to take its pride of place in Osun State nay Nigeria. Senator Isiaka Adeleke called on Iwo indigenes at home and in diaspora, to rally round the new monarch by investing heavily in overall infrastructural development of Iwoland.

“Senator Isiaka Adeleke, promised to continue to identify with Iwo and her people with absolute love and commitment to her overall development, as he sees Iwo as home to him, any day.

“The first executive governor of Osun state advised Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, to see himself as a father to all without discrimination, urging him to draw closer to all those that contested the race to the throne with him, as there was no victor nor vanquished.”
