The 21-year-old student who imported the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) into Sengal from Guinea has been certified free of the disease.

Papa Amadou Diack, Senegal’s director of health, told Reuters that series of test conducted indicated that the victim has recovered.

“We did a first blood test on Friday and a second 48 hours later and both of them came back negative,” he said.

“This is very good news for the patient and for the country.”
