A brace from Alesandar Mitrovic was the tonic Serbia needed to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-0 in an international friendly match in London on Tuesday.

The Eagles were second best for large parts of the game that was clearly dominated by the Serbs.

It was a bad day in the office for Gernot Rohr who missed the presence of John Obi Mikel and Oghenekaro Etebo in the middle of the park.

The three-time African champions lacked the grit and determination to threaten the European outfit for the entire match duration.

Four changes were made to the team that defeated Poland 1-0 last Friday, with Ogenyi Onazi, Tyronne Ebuehi, Chidozie Awaziem and Ahmed Musa getting the nod. There was a debut for Al Ahly striker Junior Ajayi who came on as a late substitute.

Mitrovic’s goals arrived in the 69th and 83rd minutes as the Serbians ran rings around the opposition with their high pressing and passing game.
