Seven children were hurt following the accidental detonation of an object in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.

Samuel Aruwan, the state commissioner for internal security and home affairs, confimed the incident in a statement on Tuesday.

According to a security report, the children, who were playing in the area, picked up the material from a nearby farm.

He said the object detonated while the children were playing with it.
