An unspecified number of bandits have been reportedly killed during a clash between two rival terrorist groups in Gusau and Tsafe LGAs of Zamfara.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the conflict which resulted in a gun battle occurred at about 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The publication said the clash was between the Kachallah Mai Yankuzu and Dogo Bali group.

Zagazola Makama quoted intelligence sources as saying that the Dogo Balli faction launched an ambush on the hideout of the Yankuzu terrorist gang.

During the clash, the bandits shot at one another, leading to the death of many fighters from the two factions.

The publication said the terrorist groups are responsible for the killings and kidnapping of residents in Danmusa, Kankara, Gusau, and Tsafe LGAs.

In January, many Boko Haram and the fighters of the Islamic States of West African Province (ISWAP) were killed during a clash between the two terrorist factions.
