The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says several terrorists were killed following precision air strikes on a Boko Haram hideout in the Mandara Mountains in Borno state.

In a statement issued on Monday, Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF spokesperson, said the strikes were conducted on Sunday under Operation Hadin Kai following intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

Ejodame said NAF air strikes targeted Wa Jahode and Loghpere, identified as key strongholds of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram.

He noted that the mountainous area near the Cameroon border had witnessed a spike in terrorist activities, including logistics build-up and sightings of senior JAS commanders.

The NAF spokesperson said surveillance revealed clusters of structures with solar panels, black flags, and fortified compounds—which are indicators of insurgent resurgence.

He noted that NAF fighter jets were deployed to carry out coordinated air interdictions, destroying logistics warehouses, command centres, and defensive shelters of the terrorists.

Ejodame said the strikes significantly disrupted the insurgents’ supply chain and degraded their capability to launch further attacks.

He added that the air force remains committed to sustaining operations aimed at restoring peace in the region.
