PHOTOS: Seyi Tinubu installed as Okanlomo of Yorubaland by Alaafin of Oyo

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has been installed as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland by Abimbola Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo.

The installation took place on Sunday at the Alaafin’s palace in Oyo town, Oyo state.

Tinubu, an entrepreneur, has been involved in business and youth-focused initiatives, and has in recent years accompanied the president on a number of official and political engagements.

His wife, Layal Tinubu, was also conferred with a chieftaincy title at the ceremony, as she was installed as the Yeye Okanlomo of Yorubaland.

Also conferred with a chieftaincy title at the event was Abdul’aziz Yari, a former Zamfara governor and senator representing Zamfara west, who was installed as the Obaloyin of Yorubaland.

Dignitaries who attended the ceremony included Godswill Akpabio, senate president; Gbenga Daniel; senator representing Ogun East senatorial district and members of the house of representatives led by Benjamin Kalu, the deputy speaker.

Others at the event were members of the federal executive council, traditional rulers from across Nigeria and the Republic of Benin, and senior government officials, including Bayo Adelabu, minister of power; Adeyemo Adeniran, statistician-general of the federation; Olawale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy; and Teslim Folarin, the Agba-Akin Olubadan of Ibadan land.
