Vice-President Kashim Shettima says President Bola Tinubu’s scorecard is enough to secure him re-election in 2027.

Speaking at the national executive council (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the State House conference centre in Abuja on Friday, the vice-president said elections are not won on social media.

He noted that anybody who is running against Tinubu in 2027 is only planning to lose because the president’s experience and leadership record places him ahead of other contestants.

“Elections are not won by noise or nostalgia,” he said.

“Elections are not conducted on Facebook or Twitter. They are won by coalitions, credibility and conviction.

“With the experience of our president as our shield and the lessons of the past as our guide, I believe that 2027 is not a gamble; it is a responsibility.

“And by the fear of God, we shall have a renewable blessing.”

He, however, noted that Nigeria is practising democracy and everybody is free to contest elections.

The vice-president added that the APC is heading into the next general election with ample confidence.
