Opukiri Jones Ere, media aide to Samson Siasia, says the embattled former Super Eagles coach’s lawyer will look into the recent FIFA’s life ban handed to him.

Siasia who expressed shock over his ban by FIFA and called for a press conference was unavoidably absent on Saturday to clear the air surrounding the issue.

Ere said the Olympic silver and bronze medal-winning coach who accused the world soccer ruling body of dishing out punishment without contacting him will brief the press in due course.

FIFA’s hammer is coming on the heels of emotional turmoil Siasia is presently going through following the kidnap of his mother Ogere since July.

“We want to please plead with you that the issue has been handed over to a lawyer and they are looking at the case,” Ere said.

“I am speaking to you on his behalf this morning concerning the issues raised yesterday.

“So, at this moment coach Siasia will be unavailable to speak to the press.

“I also want to appeal to you the press that he is going through so much stress concerning his mother’s kidnap which we are dealing with at the moment.

“So, we want to say that he is unavoidably absent today to speak to the press. We appreciate you all for coming, your concerns at the moment.

“The messages that have been received, the solidarity that have been received from the onset of this situation, my kind appeal to you guys is just for you to give us some time for the lawyers to look into the case.

“As soon as possible, I think by next week we will call on you guys to inform you of actions that will be taken.

“So, on behalf of the family of Samson Siasia I want to thank you all for coming and we pray that this well end well.”

On August 16, 2019, FIFA banned Siasia from the game for life, following a match-fixing investigation.

The adjudicatory chamber of FIFA’s independent Ethics Committee stated that the former Nigerian coach pleaded guilty of having accepted “bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics”.

So sorry his Mother was kidnapped. But there is nothing that Samson SiaSia can do about the FIFA life ban. Maybe after series of investigation by FIFA, they may forgive him and remove the ban. Am sure that he won’t collect bribe again.
