Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly killed six fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a raid on their hideouts in Goniri, Damboa LGA of Borno.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the raid was conducted on May 9.

The publication said the terrorists were killed by troops of 81 division task force battalion in collaboration with the civilian joint task force.

An intelligence source told the publication that the troops succeeded in destroying the structures of the terrorists in the Wulma Kashi and Kodow areas.
