Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, has inaugurated the 3.2 kilometres Okpunoeze-Uruagu road in Nnewi, Nnewi north LGA of the state.

Speaking at the inauguration on Friday, the governor also promised to dualise the road from Nnewi to Awka, the capital city, through Nnobi Adazi and Agulu.

He added that plans are underway to construct the Nnewi-Ozubulu-Okija-expressway.

The governor recently announced plans to construct a 14-kilometre road in the Okpoko area of the state.

During the inauguration, Soludo called for the remembrance of the late Emeka Nwokenagu, an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftain, who was killed in the build up to the 2021 governorship election in the state.

Ejimofor Opara, the senior special assistant on new media to the governor, said the commissioning of the road is dedicated to the memory of the late politician.

“Governor Soludo seized the moment to remember Emeka Nwokenagu (Eze B) who, until his painful death in the hands of criminals parading as Unknown Gunmen (UGM) in the build-up to the 2021 Anambra governorship election rained terror on the people, was the Uruagu Ward 1 APGA chairman,” Opara said.
