South-south APC governors, party leaders endorse Tinubu for 2027 re-election

Governors and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the south-south geopolitical zone have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.

In a statement by Fred Itua, chief press secretary to Edo governor, the endorsement was made during an APC stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, in Benin City, the state capital.

The event had in attendance prominent party figures who praised Tinubu’s leadership and pledged support for his renewed hope agenda ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speakers at the event included Adams Oshiomhole, senator representing Edo north; Abubakar Momoh, minister for regional development; Bassey Otu, governor of Cross River state; and Timipre Sylva, former governor of Bayelsa.

The speakers expressed confidence in Tinubu, highlighting key reforms such as the student loan initiative and tax exemptions for low-income earners as achievements of the current administration.

Okpebholo thanked his colleagues for their unity, describing the gathering as unprecedented.

He described Tinubu as a “capacity working president” whose policies have simplified governance and driven national progress.

Okpebholo reiterated his promise to deliver 2.5 million votes for Tinubu in Edo in 2027.

He cited ongoing road construction projects linking eight communities in Uhunmwonde as evidence of the administration’s commitment to development and attributed the progress to Tinubu’s support.
