South-west governors postpone meeting over death of DAWN DG
The planned meeting of south-west governors scheduled for Abeokuta, capital of Ogun state, has been postponed.
Adejuwon Soyinka, spokesman of Ibikunle Amosun, governor of Ogun, announced this in a statement.
Soyinka said the meeting was put on hold in honour of Dipo Famakinwa, director-general of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) commission.
“The south-west governors have decided to put the meeting on hold in honour of the director-general of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) commission, Mr. Dipo Famakinwa, who sadly passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017,” Soyinka said in a statement.
“While we regret any inconveniences this might have caused, a future date for the meeting will be duly communicated.”
Famakinwa, who would have been 51 in July, died on Friday morning.
