Muktar Betara, a member of the house of representatives, has asked Muslims to treat everyone with compassion.

In a Sallah message to Muslims on Thursday to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting, Betara, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said religion and tribe shouldn’t be the basis on which Nigerians help one another.

He asked Muslims to sustain the good deeds exhibited during the month of Ramadan.

“I wish to enjoin all Muslims to moderate during the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr and continue to extend love to one another, especially the less privileged in our society,” he said.

“We should also sustain virtues of self-discipline, sacrifice, and compassion to fellow Nigerians, irrespective of religion, tribe, or race.”

Betara said Nigeria needs peace noting that the task of nation-building requires the contribution of everyone.

“I wish to enjoin all Nigerian citizens to pray Almighty Allah to continue to guide and lead our leaders aright in the journey of nation building,” he said.
