Candidates applying for recruitment into paramilitary agencies have continued to experience glitches in the application process.
This is happening despite a four-day suspension of the exercise for system enhancement by the civil defence, correctional, fire and immigration services board (CDCFIB).
BACKGROUND
The CDCFIB had initially announced that recruitment into the four paramilitary agencies would commence on June 26.

But the board postponed the opening date of its recruitment portal to July 14.
However, applicants reported glitches that prevented them from completing their applications, after which the board, again, closed the portal for four days.
The CDCFIB explained that the shutdown was necessary to enhance its system to handle the large volume of applications flooding in.

Upon resumption on Monday, the board stated that “all issues with the portal [were] successfully resolved,” adding that its technical team was on standby for any further observations.
Despite the enhancement, applicants have continued to report issues with the application portal.
Some complained of validation errors, while some were unable to upload required documents.
Addressing complaints on X, the board advised some applicants to start their applications afresh, while it asked others to clear their cache or try different browsers.

Hello, @CDCFIBNG
I'm reaching out to express my complaint about the online application.
It keeps showing me that "an error has occurred while validating," which has stalled my application.
Attached is the screenshot of the problem I'm encountering.

FAKE SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT MISLEADING CANDIDATES
Meanwhile, the board has issued a disclaimer, informing candidates that a Facebook Page, CDCFIB, is not owed or operated by the board.
“Our official Facebook page remains “CDCFIBNg'”, it said.

Relying on information posted on the fake Facebook page, some applicants had proceeded to submit their applications without uploading their NYSC certificate numbers.
“This is to inform the public and applicants that the CDCFIB is aware of the issues pertaining to filing NYSC certificate numbers. Applicants in this category can skip this stage and continue application if process stalls for them after filing NYSC certificate numbers,” a post on the fake Facebook page with 89,000 followers reads.
The CDCFIB official Facebook page has 1,900 followers.
The board clarified that applicants with a BSc/HND degree must ensure they include their NYSC certificate number before submitting their applications.
The deadline for application submission is August 4.

Who the hell is handling your facebook page? They ask applicants to submit without Nysc number
— Redcap Chief (@MuazzamYakasai) July 22, 2025
This is fault of the system, which is your platform. Some of us especially me, I filled the form correctly putting all necessary requirements but submitting became hostile which took me back, front and frustrated and I later skipped my NYSC number when it finally submitted.

Dear @CDCFIBNG
As regards to the NYSC certificate number you said it's mandatory for Bsc/HND holders, some or even a larger percentage of us have submitted without it because we were unable to proceed as we inputted the certificate number. We need access to edit our details back.— 𝕊𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕒 𝕡𝕖𝕝𝕫👑 (@shinapelz07) July 22, 2025
