What they disingenuously blamed ex-governor Ibikunle Amosun for, they are all doing it. They all want to remain in power, even after either four (4) or eight (8) years. This is why they all can kill to ensure that they pass the baton of leadership to those whom are very loyal to them. Who amongst our politicians would want to leave power as a governor and would not want to continue to control his state by passing the baton of power to a puppeteer? Bola Tinubu left power in Lagos many years ago and till today, he is still controlling the State.

Let us hurriedly visit Edo State, home of the current National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole. For some months now, Adams and his successor, governor Obaseki have been fighting dirty. When a political son and father fight, just know that it is about control—selfish resource control. They are not fighting because they want to better the lot of Edo folks; they are fighting because of their egocentric ends!

Away from Adams and Obaseki, I want to sternly warn those who are hurrying Mr. President to form his cabinet. I appeal to those impatient-Nigerians—who are in a hurry, mounting pressure on baba to quickly appoint his Ministers. Kindly wait for Baba to break his own record. It took baba six (6) months before forming his cabinet during his first tenure in office that has turned Nigeria to London, so why the rush now? Some of us are expecting baba to form his cabinet around December, 2019. In other words, baba is not slow until after six months in office.

According to PMB, the PDP was in power for sixteen (16) years without achieving anything tangible, so on the condition that baba is in office for 16months without achieving anything, he is still not slow. Remember, baba is not a fast reader, because he is an ex-general. Also, remember that baba does not like to be hurried, so he does not make mistakes. Remember, the last time you hurried him, dead people were appointed. Fellow Nigerians, stop hurrying baba, so that our beloved dead folks can rest.

Our people in power are so impious. They do not see what other countries are enjoying and try to replicate same in Nigeria for our people to enjoy. Some hours ago, the GMD of NNPC was speaking the mind of the substantive Minister of Petroleum, President Buhari, saying that we can no longer access fuel at 145naira per liter. The groundless-reason he gave: “Our oil price is the cheapest in the whole of West Africa.” They have never seen that our politicians are the highest paid in the whole world, not in the whole of West Africa. It is true that those who are leading us hate us!

Different people are appointed to reward them for being loyal to the ruling political party, but our selfish (and wicked) mindset remains the same. After letting our people know indirectly that the pump price would soon be increased, he decided to play to the gallery like those before him, saying that he would make all our refineries work before the second tenure of Baba expires in 2023. Nigerians are sick and tired of the empty promises of those in the corridors of power. Like Kyari, like Kachikwu!

On Monday, the 22nd of May, 2017, Ibe Kachikwu, Nigeria’s former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources stated during an interview on BBC World Service programme, “HardRalk,” anchored by Stephen Sackur. It was on the programme that he promised to deliver on the completion of our refineries: “2019 is the target time…I target 2019. If I do not achieve it, I will walk (away)…I put the date and I will achieve it.” He was unable to deliver even one refinery and he did not walk away as said, because of the unusual bread of his office. He is definitely not a man of nobility, honor and admiration. Men of honor always do as they say.

Also, the new GMD of NNPC, Mele Kyari said he would eradicate corruption throughout the oil and gas sector. Remember, this is the sector that Mr. President is heading. For the first four (4) years, PMB was the substantive Minister of Petroleum. Mele is saying that NNPC is corrupt—even on the watch of President Buhari! Mele is deceiving the gullible citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that would do what Buhari, Baru and Kachikwu could not achieve for four (4) years. Remember, he was under the leadership of Maikanti Kacalla Baru!

While playing to the gallery, Kyari revealed the age-long culture of the NNPC: “To my family members, from today, if you accept any gift from anyone, then it is not from me. So those who want to give my family members gift, let them know that family members can never influence me.” Mele was circuitously telling us that it is the usual practice at the NNPC for folks to give the current DG’s family members—money and what money can buy—in order to influence him. In other words, it is safe to imply that it happened during the time that Baru was in office as the DG under the leadership of President Buhari as the substantive Minister of Petroleum!

For the umpteenth time, stop pushing baba to soar as an eagle like President of first world countries. Remember, slow and steady baba says wins the race. It is too not bad if we are crawling as a nation. At least, this is the “next-level” Nigerians voted for and you all should be patient to enjoy it to the end. Once again, stop mounting pressure on baba to hurriedly form his cabinet, so as to avoid some dead people being appointed again.
