A secondary school student has been killed by a bullet allegedly fired by a police officer in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The deceased was said to be on his way to write the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) when he was hit by a stray bullet on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened along the Gbagi market road in the Egbeda LGA of Oyo state.
Eyewitnesses said some police officers were chasing a suspect in a moving vehicle on the road.

During the chase, one of the officers allegedly fired a shot at the suspect, which hit the student.
The student was with his twin brother and father during the incident. He was taken to the Welfare Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Protesters have taken the corpse to the Oyo state secretariat to inform Seyi Makinde, governor of the state, about the incident.

Adewale Osifeso, Oyo police spokesperson, is yet to respond to calls and messages on the incident.
