Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir late on Sunday underwent a successful knee surgery in a Khartoum private hospital.

Imad Sidahmed, Presidential Palace Press Adviser, said on Monday in Khartoum that the surgery was carried out at the private Royal Care Hospital in Khartoum by a team of Sudanese surgeons.

He said that President Bashir was in good health and responding well to treatment.

A source in government said on condition of anonymity that this was the first time the news of the President’s health condition was being made public.
