President Muhammadu Buhari says the Super Eagles can go far in the ongoing World Cup in Russia.

In a statement released after Nigerian team defeated Iceland, the president expressed delight at the confidence of the players.

“I am confident that if our players believe in themselves, they can qualify out of their difficult group and even go very far in the tournament,” he said.

Congratulating them, he added that “with determination, nothing is impossible”.

Buhari urged the Eagles not to limit themselves but to sustain the momentum by defeating Argentina in their next match scheduled for Tuesday.

A brace from Ahmed Musa had helped Nigeria to a 2-0 victory over Iceland at the Volgograd Arena on Friday.
