Colombia have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US. However, Venezuela fell short of the target by two points.
Nigeria are also in a challenging situation in their pursuit of one of Africa’s nine automatic tickets to the World Cup.
The Eagles sit in third in Group C of the qualifiers, six points behind South Africa, the leaders, with only two games left. The team is on the brink of failing to qualify for consecutive World Cups.

However, FIFA has commenced disciplinary proceedings against South Africa for fielding an ineligible player in one of their qualifying matches. The penalty might cost Bafana Bafana three points in the World Cup race.
