Super Falcons to lock horns with France, Norway at Women’s World Cup
The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been drawn against host nation, France, as well as Korea Republic and Norway in Group A of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The draw ceremony was held in Paris on Saturday.
World Cup debutant, South Africa, are in Group B alongside Germany, China and Spain.
Africa’s third representative at the mundial, Cameroon, are in Group E against Canada, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup will hold in nine France cities: Grenoble, Le Havre, Lyon, Montpellier, Nice, Paris, Reims, Rennes and Valenciennes.
Nigeria is one of only seven countries to have qualified for and participated in all previous seven editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Super Falcons reached the quarter-final of the World Cup in 1999.
The opening match of France 2019 will hold at Parc des Princes in Paris.
The six groups:
Group A: France, Korea Republic, Norway, Nigeria
Group B: Germany, China, Spain, South Africa
Group C: Australia, Italy, Brazil, Jamaica
Group D: England, Scotland, Argentina, Japan
Group E: Canada, Cameroon, New Zealand, Netherlands
Group F: USA, Thailand, Chile, Sweden
