Swansea City earned a hard-fought 3-2 win against Liverpool on Saturday.
The victory is Swansea’s first ever league win at Anfield, home stadium of Liverpool.
Fernando Llorente’s brace and Gylfi Sigurdsson’s late strike took Paul Clement’s team out of the relegation zone.
Although Liverpool held sway in the first half, Swansea City stood firm and kept the hosts at bay and even came close to scoring when Tom Carroll hit the post.
In the second half, Fernando Llorente gave Swansea the lead in the 48th minute. He also guided in a ferocious header to extend his side’s lead in the 52nd minute.
Roberto Firmino brought Liverpool back into the contest in the 55th minute with a powerful header. He equalised for his team with a half-volley in the 59th minute.
But it was not to be Liverpool’s day.
Tom Carroll picked up a loose ball 25 yards out and ran at the heart of Liverpool’s defence before passing to Gylfi Sigurdsson, who struck the ball it into the net to give Swansea the lead in the 78th minute.
The Swans ensured they maintained the lead till the final minute of the match.
