Arsenal goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, has welcomed Petr Cech to north London.

Cech, who played more than 400 club games in 11 seasons in Chelsea, has joined the Gunners on a four-year contract worth about £10m.

The Czech Republic goalkeeper made only seven league appearances last season after losing his place to Belgian Thibaut Courtois.

Szczesny also lost his place in Arsenal to David Ospina last season and faces an uncertain future with Cech’s transfer to the Gunners.

However, the Polish goalkeeper has welcomed the former Blues man to the club via his Facebook account.

“Petr Cech, welcome to Arsenal FC! Delighted to have a chance to learn from one of the best GK’s in the world!”

With Ospina linked to French side Olympique Marseille, Szczesny will have his chance “to learn” from the 33-year-old keeper. Ultimately, he will outlast him – being eight years younger – and take back his spot when he retires. But he has to stay patient until then and also fend off any competitors for the number two spot.
