Aminu Tambuwal, speaker of the house of representatives, believes that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cannot determine his fate as speaker of the lower legislative chamber.
Speaking at the north-west zonal executive meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna, Tambuwal said only God and members of the house of representatives could decide his fate.
Tambuwal, who came to the meeting without his security details, was surrounded by party members and associates.
Inuwa Abdulkadir, APC’s vice-national chairman, north-west, told the gathering that the meeting was to address topical issues bothering the party in particular and the nation in general.
“Issues that will bring about national harmony and promote national development among others are what we are here to discuss,” he said.
Abdulkadir said that based on the calibre of people like Tambuwal who continue to join the party, APC was waxing stronger by the day.
He described the development as a sign that the party is the only political platform capable of bringing about the change that Nigerians desire.
Abdulkadir urged Nigerians to participate actively in the forthcoming general election.
