My teacher once told me I won’t succeed, reveals Davido

Blossoming Nigerian singer and songwriter, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, went down memory lane in recalling an experience during his secondary school days.

The Omo Baba Olowo crooner said back in high school, his French teacher emphatically told him that he was “unlikely to succeed”.

Posing with two of his automobiles, a Range Rover Sport and a Mercedes Benz G-wagon (pictured), the award-winning act, said the joke was now on his teacher.

“My French teacher in high school told me I was the most unlikely to succeed, jokes on her,” he said via instagram.

The Atlanta-born Nigerian rose to limelight in 2011 after the release of some ultra-hit singles, which were later collated and released in the album, ‘Omo Baba Olowo’.

The 22-year-old star has won numerous awards within and outside the African continent.

In 2014, the Aye crooner won at least 12 top class awards, including the Best International Act from Africa at the Black Entertainment (BET) awards.

Also in his stable are two MTV Africa music awards, five The Headies awards, seven Nigeria Entertainment awards, among others.
