Terem Moffi
Terem Moffi, Super Eagle striker, was reportedly beaten and spat on by fans of OGC Nice over the club’s poor run of results.
The 26-year-old was assaulted by his club’s fans alongside Jeremie Boga, an Ivorian player, on Sunday night following a 3-1 Ligue 1 loss to FC Lorient.
According to ESPN, around 400 OGC Nice ultras waited for the players at the club’s training ground after the game.
Violence erupted when some fans expressed their frustration with the club’s run of six consecutive defeats.

In a statement on Monday, the French National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) condemned the assault on the players and pledged solidarity with the victims.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the unacceptable violence to which the players of OGC Nice, Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga, were subjected last night,” the statement reads.
“The UNFP stands with its players. The physical and psychological integrity of those who make football is non-negotiable.”
