Terrorists kill mother, brother of DPO in Katsina

Terrorists operating in Danmusa LGA of Katsina have killed the mother and brother of Kabiru Lawal, a divisional police officer (DPO), in the state.

Gambo Isah, police spokesperson in the state, who confirmed the incident to TheCable said the terrorists stormed the family house of the DPO on Monday night, killed the brother and shot the mother in the leg.

He said the incident occurred when the DPO was on duty at the police station in Dutsi LGA of the state.

“Yes, it’s true. According to what I have, they came in the night, that was on Monday night. They stormed his family house, shot at his brother and killed him instantly,” he said.

“His mother was whot in the leg, she got injured and was taken to hospital in Danmusa but she died while receiving treatment.

“He is the divisional police officer working in Dutsi LGA but the attack took place at his family house in his own LGA in Danmusa.”

Meanwhile, Danmusa is one of the LGAs in Katsina that shares boundaries with some communities like Safana, Kankara where banditry operations are active.

Earlier, 17 people were reportedly killed after bandits attacked some communities in the Karfi, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina state.
