The Kaduna State College of Education has become one of the first institutions to implement the TETFund Blackboard Learning Management System.
The TETFund Blackboard Learning Management System is a digital platform designed to enhance online teaching and learning in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
Sponsored by the TETFund in partnership with Anthology Blackboard, an education technology company, the system is part of a larger initiative to standardize education delivery and provide students with access to world-class resources.
The project was officially unveiled in 2023, with a goal of deploying the platform to 253 public tertiary institutions across the country and enrolling over two million students and staff.

This digital learning platform has now entered implementation at the Kaduna State College of Education.
The platform’s launch at the college, which followed the completion of on-campus training sponsored by TETFund, marks a significant step toward aligning Nigerian tertiary education with international standards.
Held at the School of Secondary Education, Kafanchan Campus, the event was attended by the college’s leadership, academic staff, and representatives from Pole Global Marketing (PGM), the implementing partner for Anthology Blackboard in Nigeria.

The School of Secondary Education was selected as the pilot school for the programme.
Speaking at the event, Nicolas Alboouze, Anthology’s vice president for Middle East Africa, described the launch as the beginning of a new chapter for Nigerian higher education.
“Today, we are not just talking about change. We are initiating a vision. We are planting a seed that will grow into a harvest of knowledge, opportunity, and transformation,” he said.
“The TETFund Blackboard Learning Management System is a bridge from the old way of learning to a new era where no student is left behind, no lecturer is left unsupported, and no dream is out of reach.

“From today, the classroom is no longer a room. It is wherever you are, whenever you are ready to learn. It is in your hands, on the screen, and in your heart.”
Michael Adedeji Ladipo, the country director and head of business West Africa at Pole Global Marketing (PGM), commended the college’s leadership, particularly the directorate of ICT under Simon Gajere Nyalla, for championing the initiative.
In her remarks, Jummai Grace Tabat, deputy provost, administration, lauded the college’s selection as the pilot school.
“We are honoured to pioneer this groundbreaking initiative,” she said.

All government-owned tertiary institutions, it is understood, are required to adopt the Blackboard platform for teaching and learning before the end of 2025.
TETFund said students are advised to contact their ICT directors to complete an orientation before the new academic year begins in September.
