The entire under-16 Thai football team trapped in a flooded cave for over two weeks have rescued alive.

On June 23, the 12-member Wild Boars youth soccer team along with their 25 year-old coach cycle to the Tham Luang Nang Non cave to “explore”, when heavy rains began.

When none of the boys returned home as expected and could not be contacted, their parents reported them as missing.

It took 10 days for British divers to locate the boys who had braved hunger, falling oxygen levels and the tough weather conditions they were exposed to.

Saman Kunan, a former navy SEAL, died from a lack of oxygen during one of the “dangerous” rescue missions, which received massive international attention.

In a positive twist on July 8, four of the boys were freed from the underwater cave owing to predictions of a rainstorm that could leave the young team stranded.

Another four boys were rescued on Monday, with the remaining four and their coach rescued on Tuesday.

Prayuth Chan-ocha, Thailand’s prime minister, said extra security measures would be put in place to protect future visitors to the cave.
